The Story of “Prayers for the World” - continued

Before you know it, in less than twenty-four hours, we were tracking. After four or five phone calls, and by the grace of God, I had everything and everyone I needed: Didgeridoo, temple bells, singing bowls, rain sticks, fire sounds, gongs, people and prayers! The concept was to depict the times we are living in, and to highlight the need for prayer from all over the world. Many wonderful people helped me with the readings in Aramaic, Hebrew, Arabic, English etc. Prayers were from Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddist, Aboriginal Didgeridoo, Tibetan monk style throat singing, temple bells, singing bowls, Taiko drums from the East, rain sticks, a choir and more. All of these fell into place like a beautifully orchestrated symphony. Most of the people involved had never been in a studio before and were a little nervous. As the writer and producer, my job, having heard the song complete in my mind, was to make everyone as comfortable and relaxed as possible. After a little sharing of love and kindness, I told them “I know the things I’m going to ask you to do are out of context and may make no sense whatsoever, but just know it’s alright. When you hear the outcome, you will understand.” A week later, they did. “Prayers for the World” is a gift from my heart in a time that is very hard for us to comprehend. My hope is that it gives comfort and hope to people all over the world. This music was born of spirit, and I pray that it transmits as much to you as it did to me. In the making of this musical dream, many tears of joy and hope were released by myself and those who worked on it.

Thankfully Sincere,

I am—
